WA: Five illegals breakout of Curtin Airbase
A search is continuing around the Kimberley town of Derby in Western Australia for
three illegal immigrants who broke out of detention at the nearby Curtin air base last
night.
Two of the group were picked up within hours of being reported missing but three are
still on the run.
A spokesman for Customs Minister AMANDA VANSTONE says two of the three men still missing
have escaped from the centre before.
The men are believed to be from the Middle East and were among about 1,000 suspected
illegal immigrants being held at the Curtin air base.
