The South Australian opposition has called on the state government to urgently assessthe impact on local tourism of the SARS outbreak, the airline crisis and the war in Iraq.

Opposition tourism spokesman MARTIN HAMILTON-SMITH says the government must respondto the latest forecasts which suggest South Australia could expect a 30 per cent fallin overseas visitors in the coming months because of SARS alone.

He says that could impact severely on a number of local tourism businesses that dependon international visitors.
