VIC:Art 'emotional release' for fire victims
MELBOURNE, Feb 5 AAP - It has been two years since the Black Saturday bushfires claimed
173 people's lives in Victoria, but for artist Michelle Bolmat, the memory remains stark.
"I drove through the fires at Kinglake West, and drove over a fallen tree which damaged
the transmission," the 64-year-old says.
"I was fleeing a fire as it came from the north, and ended up at the tailend of the
one coming up from the southwest," she explains, her eyes open wide.
Still, she considers herself lucky.
