Which sites do you have bookmarked?
Most of the sites I have bookmarked are outdoor type sites. I'vegot bookmarks for walkscotland.com, outwardbound-uk.org,exodus.co.uk, padi.com and skydivewww.com which I check up on whileI'm doing my sky-diving. I also keep my eye out for potentialbusiness partners.
How long have you been online?
I've been online since 1997. Then I got involved withrecruitmentscotland.com and it got more intense from there. That waswhen I got a computer at home.
What do you find most frustrating about the internet?
Probably the phenomenal ignorance that so many so-called dotcombusinesses exhibit. I hate the squandering of resources and the hypethat goes with it. I'm irritated by sites that are flawed and don'twork despite all the window dressing and the advertising.
And the most useful thing?
We're all trying to get from A to B, we always have been. Theinternet allows you to do it that much faster. For example, I'vejust been on the internet and I've managed to book my whole divingtrip for the summer. I found a resort in Spain I never knew existedand I managed to book my rescue diving course at the touch of abutton. I love the speed and the efficiency that the internet givesyou access to. I'm not a surfer, I'd much rather be out there, doingmy sports. If I can get the booking and the research done morequickly, I've got more time to do what I want to do. The internetwon't change the world, but a good site can be fantastically useful. As an internet business, it also allows you to cut overheads andpass savings on to your customers.
What do your bookmarks say about you?
That I'd rather be climbing.
Any X-rated websites to declare?
Xtreme sports only I'm afraid.
